Botulinium toxin is licenced for  severe underarm sweating that is not adequately managed by strong topical treatments.  The treatment works by blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.

If the condition is not clear,   a starch iodine test can be performed to ascertain if the condition is definitely present.

Effects from the treatment,  which involves lots of tiny subcutaneous injections ofthe toxin,  can be apparent as soon as a week.  Effects can last  as long as 9-12 months.
